SITUATION    Reynolds Aluminium Foil needs to garner publicity for aluminium foil, which isn’t the most exciting thing in the world. Reynolds Aluminium Foil has decided to take an interesting application of aluminium foil by organising an interactive solar cooking workshop- a PR Campaign and news release for the same.


OBJECTIVES

  2. To encourage sustainable cooking practices 

  3. To inspire creativity and fascination for the role of foil in solar cooking

  4. To reduce carbon footprint

STRATEGY    By organizing a company-sponsored solar cooking workshop followed by a contest at the end, 

  1. Chefs- amateur, professional, aspiring alike- will be intrigued by the solar cooking machinery wonders, playing with the foil’s quality and texture

  2. Nature enthusiasts and picnic people will realize the foil’s advantages in solar cooking and hot food

  3. Innovators- people who like to come up with creative ideas will also remember this event for their sustainable innovation

  4. Sustainable-conscious people will also remember this as creative, and one carbon footprint less.


TACTICS AND MESSAGE    The success of the solar cooking workshop heavily depends on continuous borrowing from Reynolds’ aluminium foil and this directly emphasizes on the foil’s texture, quality and utility in their sustainable cooking adventure. A person from the company will go in a U-turn offering roll of Reynolds’ aluminium foil to contestants as they cook. Host a lowkey contest at the end of the workshop. This encourages the participants to get more innovative with their usage of the foil for excellence in cooking, driven by competitive spirit or excitement. 

PLAN OF ACTION  

  1. Talk with environment conservation centers, schools or restaurant manager to have a workshop with their employees or students.

  2. Prepare a budget for 30-50 solar cookers and 20 foil rolls for these 1-3 places where the workshop will be conducted.

  3. Send out flyers and posters 

  4. If needed, invite a celebrity chef or environment activist as a guest to the workshop.

New York City, NY, Feb 14- We plan to host a solar cooking workshop in association with environment conservation centres, schools, restaurants on April 22- World Earth Day.
